You could be right there Wayne, good thought. When the wings came off, I did sweep up a lot of rust from the floor, so yes, I should add the weight of that into my calculations! The Orange wings did seem to have some filler in places, which isn't a suprise, as you know how those Orange drivers drive their cars (You have seen the Dukes of Hazard I take it? : ;D The car will be delivered to Stu's straight from blasting, so I'll let you know, as I may take a look myself!

Ford only used the RED capri's for this testing as the white car's weren't quick enough, to get air of the little jump they had..

I heard that they could afford to trash a few red ones as they had so many!

Vernon,
I was looking through some "old" fast ford magazine's and in this particular one September 1987 there is a article on Stanford Hall A.V.O owners National day, and a fine black n "white" picture of TBL winning best RS3100 owner then was Mike Williams.

He soon realised that the other owners had taken pitty on him and sold the car to buy a better example in VDH ;D

Here Vernon, I'm not taking sides here atall but you have far to many grey hair tobe born after 87. I was also noticing in another mag of that a white coloured one on a Q plate Q583 VMD

Of course vernon was hatched before 1987 years before, that white one registered Q583 VMD was in fact Olympic Blue belonged at the time to Norman Walls, was one of the 50 exported to Aus, Norman then brought it back over here then exported it a second time, so without doubt the only RS3100 to have been in the UK and Australia on 2 different occasions .

well, I'm admitting to have been born/hatched/created in a test tube at some point, but I'm not saying when! well, at long last we have progress! My window for soda blasting has arrived! Onto the trolley. Three of us lifted the shell: Getting strapped down.. nearly there: and off she goes... All my spare panels went with the car, either inside or in the back of the cab. I've been told blasting will start at the beginning of December and take around 3-4 days. They will send me a text when they start, as I'm more than welcome to 'come and get dusty' as they said and have a look at the process. I'm now very relieved that the journey has started and I can get busy with the mechanicals!
