I know we have discussed wheel nuts on here a few times and there are some good reproductions available but were the originals chrome or stainless finish? Also, I have a damaged speaker from under the dash. Does anyone know if they are available anywhere or if they can be repaired. The paper cone has a hole in it. Anyone with a spare they want to part with.......Vernon? I haven't raided your store cupboard recently. Getting ready for the winter hibernation, MOT next week and prop being sent away for repair/ balance etc.

Let me have a look, Phil. I'm pretty sure any capri dash speaker will fit and all will sound equally crap, so no worries there! I also have a feeling that standard 4x6 speakers will fit, as used in later standard capri doors. Once again, I'll check. If correct, you can buy these from a few places, with the benefit that for Mk1 capri owners only, you buy one and you automatically get a free spare! How cool is that?
Yep, Lens nuts are chromed. Not that I've ever particularly looked you know, but I've heard rumours!

Vernon I'm guessing that you probably started that "rumour" as I have a photo of you gazing at them lol

Thanks Vernon. I have managed to source a NOS yes still in a box! I am sure the sound will be fine as I haven't actually wired the radio up. As my dad always said "turn that off as I can't hear when something is ABOUT to go wrong with the car" I prefer the "if its making a noise, turn the radio up a bit". As for Len's nuts, I did notice a that he had a strange stance at Coombe this year.

Right, I am going to try and upload a photo so I hope it works. It should be of a speaker wire that came with my NOS speaker. Can anyone shed any light on what should connect to the 2 prongs on the end? Is there another cable that should come from the radio to it? Speaker Lead by Phil Warren, on Flickr

The 2 pronged connector fits to some types of ford marketed radio's, sadly it would appear not yours.

As above it fits directly into the radio usually close to the aerial socket. RScapriman
