Can some one tell me how to remove the centre console and armrest from my capri i want to remove the gear stick, has any body fitted a quick shift from burtons to there capri.

Hi Mike, there are 2 fixings at the rear on each side(outside) slide both seats forward and tilt them to gain access, remove both the tray below the clock curving upwards at the front and the small one behind the gear stick/in front of the handbrake there are fixings below these into brackets fixed to transmission tunnel, remove gaitor from around handbrake be careful as it is held in place by 4 fragile plastic pins, remove gearknob, there may also be a fixing in the bottom of the centre console storage compartment ( below armrest). Console should slide back from below dash and carefully lift up over gearstick. From memory I dont think you have to release the lower dash panel but if you do its not that big a job definitely try without first. RScapriman

Lower dash panel can stay in place, but I found the clock had to be removed.
