Not many may know that (at least the ones outside the Iberian Peninsula), there was a few decades ago, a Royal Prince that stood as an Hero for a lot of petrolheads.
The charisma of having such a notorious individuality among the mechanics, drivers, marshals and aficionados was just amazing.
He finally won the Spanish Rally championship in 1979 and 1981 with a Lancia Stratos, but for many, were his Ford racing days that indeed forged the memories.

Honestly I did not saw him race, but I spent lots of hours as a kid losing myself in the pages of racing magazines and newspapers admiring the fat winged Full Group 2 Capri’s photos…….
