AVO Plate

Hi all, im sure Lenn knows this but what does the first line of letters and numbers mean on the AVO plate. Mine reads ERCGF8M TU5.
Best i could find out was E=Capri R=RHD C=coupe G=GT F=manual 8=? M=? T=temp guage U=special order 5=? am I correct, as i have pieced this from my good mate who was the MK1 escort registar for the UK owners club many years ago... Do All RS31 read the same??

It is on all RS3100,s though, any other thoughts folks?

Hi, just dusted of my bonnet and checked underneath, mine says the same except the 8 is a 3 on mine ie : ERCGF3M TU5. I've always wondered what this means, i guess if Len doesn't know it'll remain a mystery. Its def a 3 and not an 8.
