Just to let you boys know that WGW - or SXF 31 as it is now - will be attending the SCC meet at the Fairmile Hotel, Cobham, Surrey tomorrow night (Tuesday 12th) along with my 81/X 2.8i. The guys from Classic Ford mag are coming down to do a photo shoot, so there should be a particularly good turnout. Sorry I missed you all at the Combe this year, but at least I saw a couple of Capri's cruising around around in the scorching heat of Malta. The Ford scene there continues to thrive, but all the old buses finished on July 2nd so to me the place no longer feels the same. The EU effect at its very worst. Cheers, Mike

26 cars turned up to this, all colours and models. But only one RS3100, mine, and only one 4-speed 2.8i, also mine.
The 2.8i behaved impeccably, and is now much better sorted than when I first got it, and the brakes are lovely. But the RS suffered a sticky front caliper, a bit of a surprise given it remains taxed and active all year round.
Given that it has exactly the same components as the 2.8i, and they are all in good condition, I've never been at all happy and confident with their random nature, so it's time to explore beefier options. Any suggestions folks?
On top of that, it didn't really run that sweetly and the rebuilt Borg Warner T5 remains coggy and really isn't quietning down. It's nothing like I'd hoped for, but I do like its long-leggedness. I also like the fact that she now runs cool as a cucumber and with not a hint of fuel vaporisation that plague so many others.
