Bit of a momentus occasion, I've been working on getting a ford v8 engine into my 1974 mk2 capri. The spec has grown from just getting a ford v8 running with a big holley carb, to a 347ci ford V8 running 4x idf throttle bodies/fuel injection distrubutorless ignition with a mustang T5 gearbox and narrowed ford 8.8 rear axle. Most things seem to have taken forever, with a whole new set of guages and a wiring loom diagram that spreads across three posteer sized pieces of paper! well, finaly it's running! ;D www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUfjeFt-Ngwwww.youtube.com/watch?v=gReJbLpFRtY&NR=1This should be fairly lively on the road!

Hi Vernon, been watching your progress on Capri power very impressive, I actually like the Mk2 in white with Black vinyl many year ago while I was running an Arizona Gold Mk2 3000S my mate bought a White one with just 22,000 miles on it a stunning car, and I have to say mate so is yours!!! My only criticism is the stripes at the rear quarter ;D

Hi Len, yes, those rear quarter stripes. That was done when I first restored the car...I never did fix that, but it will be sorted...i don't think they are right over the arches either!
Well, I'm hoping it will hit the road soon, need to fit the interior and get the engine mapped on a rolling road. I'll see if I can get it MOT'd fisrt though, as I need to run in the cwp on the rear axle. Probably not a good idea to go all ot on a rolling road before I've put some miles on it!

Good onya Vernon, ive been following it on the capri forum with much intrest. I get to see alot of v8 capri's over here in Australia, with most conversion kits avalible off the shelf. it has been great to see your way of sorting some of the problems out. The standard you have finished the car i cant see why it wont pass its mot. Cheers Owen
