Hi Len, sorry for not getting back to you, but put me down for this and the mandatory accomodation for one!...and hopefully the old girl will pass the MOT. Otherwise I could be comming along in something else with 2 more cylinders!

Having a spare 1300cc 4 cylinder in the boot of the mark two doesn't make it a V8 you know!

Cheers Vernon, will sort that for you especially now that officially a fan of the Orange Brigade !!!! hope MN has clocked this.
Good to see that Gareth is still a bit playfull and has an extremely high opinion of you mate never mind Combe will soon be here look out. On that note had another great response 29 say they want to come and quite a few regulars not able to make it so looks like another good year. Len

Yep, Gareth has still got it! mind you, he's seen the mk 2...I don't know how he knew I was going to put a x flow in the boot, but I have to have something that can pump enough fuel for the V8! he must me clairvoyant or something! I think I've seen too many orange cars. I've obviously not spent enough time in my own garage! 29 is a result, especially as some of the usual susects aren't turning up. Bad show. Do they think they actually have a choice?

Well Len, the question it seems to me should be: Why would they want to come now you've said it looks like being a good year because they're not able to make it? ;D And who are they

good point phil, however I have been thinking about their reasons/ excuses and finally I have come up with this!!!! they are just not good enough explantions, in fact almost as bad as some who have blamed their wife for organising something else that weekend so they cannot stop for the meal !!!!!! How lame is that? Now I,m not prepared to name these people mainly because I will be creeping around them nexrt year begging them to return

not staying for dinner because his wife has arranged something else? Sounds like Phi er 'someone' is on a promise to me! As lame excuses go, that one is off the scale. This is up there with the squirel and the trophy story. still, by way of appology, I'm sure some nice cakes for lunch or funds for a round in the evening will be forthcomming for not being there and for the mere lip service given to comming up with even a half credible excuse

I'm quite happy to name myself (again)!
I will be working in Malta at the time - and that's that.
But if anyone's man enough to take WGW down to CC, well just let me know. You will have to complete an extensive IQ test - so I guess that rules Len and Vernon out... Oh, and of course, I'm bound not to hear back from any of you boys with cars in those wishy-washy colours...
Incidentally, WGW now has another pal at home in the form of a very early 2.8i. I've always been really partial to those early 4-speeders and this one looks a treat in two-tone Forest/Crystal. Plus I reckon I stole it at the price. Ironic though really that WGW's got an extra gear courtesy of its T5. I'll post a photo of the pair together in due course.
Interesting to see STW do so well on ebay. Be very interesting to see if the deal completes. But why-o-why didn't I buy that low mileage black one that went on ebay for £6500 only about a year or so ago?! No trace of where it went Len? Weird how they just seem to vanish into the ether again.
Anyway, must get on. I have a magenta Stag to prep for MOT today. And despite the reputation, it's always a pleasure to be around and far fleeter of foot than you might think too.

Well done Mike, never thought I'd read a sentence with both your name and work in it last heard that one on the comedians . I'm quite sure if a bus conductor is able to pass an IQ test enabling to drive a Capri the likes of Vernon will have no problem whereas I would not be prepared to even give it a go for fear of yet more embarrasment. You should have bought VTD mate a guy from Bristol owns it and it is now at restore a ford having surgery. As for that stagnant thing you keep waffling about any more cursing on here and i will forced to delete it. Get that pic up here m8 you know I too have a liking for those 4 speeders

The only promise I get these days is a threat of bodily harm if I don't do as I'm told Mmm, cakes. Yes, well I did buy you all some last year, but the squirrel ate them before we left home. Gareth's fault apparently, as he trained it ;-)

Mike, well I guess I'm out on taking WGW on both counts then! At least you've come up with an excuse that is believable, wheras Phil. Well, lets just say him being an up standing pillar of our society is severly in doubt. With an imagination able to conjur up excuses that are about as believable as a squirrel ate my trophy/cakes/homework/anything else that should happen to go missing (before the Titanic was found, any ideas what Phils explanation was?!"!?). I see 'Gareth the wild squirrel trainer' hasn't commented on this. He's probably busy with a chair and whip, training his latest animal!
I've seen the black car (well it was black) when I've visited restore a ford. It will be in fine fettle when it comes out, I'm sure but I believe it needs a number of new panels and significant work, so I don't think you could turn it around and make what STW made and still make a profit. Yes, will be interesting to know if the deal on STW goes through.
An early 2.8 four speeder sounds nice, so pepper pots and all right? Sounds good, so as Len says, get a picture up! ;D

Maybe I've missed a post, but has anyone seen a picture of Mikes fabled 4 speed 2.8i? Maybe he's shipping it to Malta for a photo session? Or does it just go as well as the top gear 2.8i?!?!?
