If you look carefully, it's the same car ;D I would say it's an RS3100, circa 1973, made in Halewood, chasis number starts BBECND, Orange. ;D ;D ;D
So what's the story len? Looks like a good restoration there!

You have guessed it its Mr Fashion conscious himself Michael (I'm at home on the catwalk) Nash, it is indeed WGW I have several photos of the car from this period and an interesting letter from the gent that owned it and restored it.

Ah, well, it was the immaculate shut-lines that gave the game away Len! When I think what those boys allegedly paid for RRY with its collective dogs-dinner of panel woes, I realise just what a great all-rounder WGW was for the price. Even the interior, which I initially viewed as being a bit tired, I've come to realise from studying many others is actually a fair bit better than average.
Anyway, I suggest you scan and send me copies of the fots and associated paperwork by return please.
Just tell me where to send the folding to, cos you're bound to hold me to ransom. The usual brown envelope arrangement I assume? Just like all those 'special' magazines you subscribe to...
I don't know about the catwalk. More like the doghouse most of the time at home where talking Capri's is concerned. You seem to have got yourself a far more understanding 'domestic' than my model. Still, she's fine until she wakes up each morning. ;D
Incidentally, I went down to the classic car show and Charterhouse auction at Shepton Mallett on Sunday, with half a nod towards the 9,500 mile Capri 280. But it wasn't quite as tidy as hoped, and still made a provisional £9200 + Charterhouse's outrageously greedy 15% commission.
In fact I was expecting the highlight of the show to have been the advertised 'Vintage Strippers' stand. Especially with such a nip in the air. So imagine my disappointment then when it turned out to be some old guff about sand and soda blasting...
Just when I thought the classic car scene was becoming more interesting and less beardy-weirdy!

Sounds like you'll have a nice piece of history there for your car, Mike! Also looks like a good level of restoration as well when panels were more freely available. I'm sure Len will want to provide you with all the details he has poste haste for his normal payment, although putting a beer or two in an envelope doesn't sound like the greatest of ideas Those 280's do have a poor reputation. I know there are some superb examples out there, but there seems to be a lot of poor ones, even those that have low miles. Shame about the vintage strippers. But you do know that if they had been as advertised, and vintage had been just that, you may have been asking them to cover up! RRY. There's car that needs a little more than just TLC.

Mr Nash, so brave of you to comment on your beloved that way, I would have to say the girl deserves a comendation putting up with a poorly dressed, bus driving vauxhall owner and am guessing the reason that she is fine until she wakes up is that prior to that moment you my good friend were not visible. Unlike young Ange who clearly recognises what a cat walk guru, tractor totting, Capri sado she has had the most unfortunate bad luck to meet. Now with regard to payment/s ;D
