SYH 66N made £15,500 plus commission / VAT. Be interesting to see if / where it turns up.
You get the feeling thesedays that restored examples are mostly being snapped up by speculators rather than grass-root enthusiasts, in which case they then fall out of general circulation, only to re-appear every few years at another auction.
I enjoyed the fots of Stanford Hall, and it looked to be dry there too. Apologies that myself and WGW couldn't join you guys due to short-notice work commitments (driver shortage). In fact I couldn't even get along to the OSF Box Hill gathering on the Saturday morning, and that's only 15 minutes down the road from me. It's been one of those years so far, and at the present time I can't see next year being any different.

I think you are right mike. I'd like to think these cars are going to grass roots enthusiasts, but I think there is an increasing amount of speculation going on, which could take these cars out of circulation and into private collections, where they won't see the light of day, except for the next auction. Shame really.
