well, myself and Gareth made the pilgrimage back to the AVO site at Aveley with the AVO club. The downside was that we were the only Capris in evidence, the upside being that they got two cars of the best colour you could wish for! ;D Parking space available at my place, white cars need only apply See how Gareths spoiler is nice and clean (Phil, please note) Pub meet before we go to the factory. Gareth wins the 'who can park closest to the pub door' competition. some pictures of the old factory and finally, my car outside the old AVO entrance Gareth also got interviewd by the classic ford guy covering the event. I believe the conversation started 'Thats a funny looking escort, what is it?' ;D The first two photo's were taken by Gareth, taken as he was waiting for me to get my A** into gear!

Nice pics Vernon, just goes to prove what a boring area you live in even the pub is painted in a bland colour!!!!! couple of beautiful red escorts in that shot what a contrast I see even though the place is closed they only allowed a shot of the boring colour leaving they could'nt wait to get rid of that colour back in 1973 at Halewood either. ;D

I'm not surprised Gareth's spoiler is nice and clean, the amount of rags he must have used to polish it, judging by the bags full of them that he chucked behind your car Seriously though, really gutted that I wasn't able to make it. Looks like it was a cracking day, at the old factory anyway. Not sure about that place where the first couple of photos were taken. Looks a bit dodgy to me

Phil, you'll have to be nicer to Carol, that way you won't be given squirrel to eat or rummage through the bins for your tea It was a good day out, Vernon won a blue romper suite with AVO on it. He's promised to wear it at future events ;D I found out the hard way why the hospitality at Vernons place is so good; it was so he could nick my alternator and replace it with a dodgy dynamo from his 1300L mascerading as an RS Normally I wouldn't have minded, but it only got me as far as Junction 11 of the M1 before it failed in the roadworks I knew I should have slept in the car ;D Will try and put up some pics from the Ace Cafe where there were a total of 4 RS3100's. There was a time only once RS3100 would be at an event, but now they're getting a bit common

Looks a bit dodgy to me Funnily enough, Those bags wern't there when he arrived, so they were either polishing rags, or Gareths washing he was hoping to have done! I see my master stroke still hasn't been uncovered. You see, I knew my alternator was on it's way out, due to my ammeter needle doing less than it normally does, ie nothing. The adjusting nut was seized on the alternator, so I thought, next best thing, swap the number plates over! He'll never know. I didn't realise it would go belly up that quickly! It was a good day though, weather held out and as Gareth said, I won a set of AVO overals. Viera said that they were too rough to be pajamas, so that's that idea out

Just because it had a hood and bunny ears, doesn't make it a romper suit you know!
