Hi ALL - Can anyone recommend any of the mk1 carpets that I see on ebay? any personal experiences or does anyone have one for sale?  - thanks in advance Graeme. |

Hi Graeme, I got one mine from Australia....but not via eBay.....or at least not directly. David, on this forum, was sourcing a carpet and I asked him to get me one at the same time. I think the thing to check is the material used. The modern Capet material is just crap compared to what was used originally. I saw at the nec they had some really nicely molded carpets for the mk2 escort.....not sure if anyone will go to the effort for the capri. I've also heard a U.K. Supplier claim there was no such thing as a one piece carpet for the capri and they came with a 2 part carpet from the factory...which is BS. Mine is 2 part, with the join going across the car under the seats. The material does compare well with the original carpet being a looped pile. I've seen an example of Aldridge trim carpet...and while it does the job, it looks awful in my view. I think they use modern carpet which looks more like stiff thick felt. I think their trimming is superb....they re did my scheel seats in RS2600 style....but their carpet was going no where near my cars!
