Possibly another RS3100 coming home

Mark Beckerfield's car, the 1 that started the big price rise here all those years ago.. Wounder if its the buyer from then aswell..

So 'the' car that sold for approx. $72k Aus at Bonhams (Adelaide?) is finally being shipped over to its UK buyer.

I wonder if the hammer price was partially refunded, or some other agreement was made to finalise the sale after all this time, since the buyer was reportedly unhappy with the stated condition of the car.

Sorry Jamie, did not know the Reg or Chassis Number of the car that was at Bonhams or if I did I had forgoten all about it.
The way I understand it the owner lives in the UK but has told a mutual friend that he has gone past some 12 month limit ( he has either emigrated from Aus to the UK or is returning back to the UK after being a resident in Aus) and is now liable to pay import duty hence me being contacted with regard to placing a value on the car.

Nothing to be sorry about Len, it's been so long since it was sold that the thing most people remember about the car is the final sale price.

It would be an interesting task to assign a value to the car nowadays, keeping in mind it's (then) sale price, the current market trends, and current transport / import costs. Exchange rates for the latter part of 2006 hovered around 40 pence to the Australian dollar, giving a final value (excluding transport/import costs) of around 29 thousand pounds.
