Exactly 8 years ago today I became the proud owner of an RS3100 and it has mostly been happy motoring.
First owner had the old girl for 16 years and the second for 14 years, so based on previous ownership, I am about half way through my guardianship of this lovely car.
I'lll have to go through the old MOT's to see who has had the highest annual mileage through their time owning the car.

Hi 8yrs? Bought mine in 1988, took it back in about 2003 to meet the second owner, a bloke from Southampton. On the journey down there all it did was p---- with rain!! On other matters is the author of the letter in this months 'Classis Ford' a Mike P, on this website? He was asking about fitting a type 9 into a RS3100.

Got mine on 2004 after years of wanting but not being able to afford one (since I was a kid). The wife let me buy it as it was going to be used as our wedding car. Turned a few heads at the churdh!. Its been on and off the road since then and is now nearing completion thanks to Stuart a Restore-A-Ford and a very understanding wife. Looking forward to Castle Coombe if finances allow.

Thanks Len, can't recommend a stroke at 48! I'll be of work and not allowed to drive for a while yet. I had thoughts of selling the 3100 whilst I was flat on my back and unable to move, but then woke up to myself........

Only 18 months for me Gents........I know just a mere whipper snapper .......although at 52 years old, it seems strange to use those words Glenn - don't know you - but very best wishes on your recovery. Pete

Thanks Pete,
Len and I go back a long time, when we had to write letters and exchange photos by snail mail between the the UK and Aus.
I'm not a big forum follower, I passed the Aussie 3100 register on to Owen who now owns one of those common Sebring Orange ones like Len.........

Glenn, I wish you all the best for a speedy recovery.
In 2004, after 5 months RS3100 ownership, my eye sight failed for the second time and it was another 3 months until the hospital were confident that they could correct my vision.
Then in 2008 I became hypersensitive to hard contact lenses and again thought that would be an end to driving.
Thanks to help from a specialist contact lens company, I now have soft lenses that I can wear all day, everyday so been back in the world of the sighted continuously for the past 4 years and counting.
The thought of driving and despite being partially sighted in one eye and blind in another I kept tinkering with the RS so the old girl wasn't ignored.
I think these cars are great for giving you a motivator to recover.
