Door mirrors

Gents,

I thinking about putting mirrors (or mirror) on my car, in driving it I am noticing that I am at a disadvantage over here . Its funny, I have never had any issues with any of my cars driving over here, but being in a RHD without mirrors is restrictive.

So question is.......did they ever come with mirrors?........if so what should I be looking for to be as authentic as poss?

I have looked in the picture galleries (thanks for those BTW, there great........didnt Tony the Tiger say that :-) ..........and I am seeing a lot of cars without mirrors, a lot with door mirrors (one or two) and of the door mirrors there seems to be a black plastic shape that seems to be used the most.

Any guidance would be appreciated

Hi Peter, no mirrors fitted from new allthough period mirrors could include winguard ( these can fetch siily money on E-Bay), I think the "black plastic "ones you refer to are probably the ones fitted to the Australian cars ( Ford Falcon items) one of the few ammendments made to the cars exported over there.

You need to develop your neck muscles so you can turn your head more like an owl or just drive faster so no one will be coming at you from behind so to speak

On a more serious note would soemthing like this help that sticks on the inside of the window Blind Spot Mirror

or this that clips on to the rear view mirror New Rally The Lanechanger Blind Spot Rearview Blindspot Wide Angle Safety Mirror

Cheaper than a WInguard and means no drilling in the bodywork.
