Struth Len!!! You would have to go and ask the questions when I am 400 miles from home away from all my notes. Anything I look up here is in Flemish Here is my best guess ;D 1 - A Ford one. 2 - The month had a vowl in it and the year was one that was in the 20th century. 3 - Sub 10 seconds, about 7.4 ish? 4 - One in the UK 5 - Too munch because you could get a decent Jag for similar money. Said it would be a guess

Since being beaten by Vernon this year at AVO National Day, once being a registrar counts for nothing! I need all the help I can get!

Are you sure this is back by popular demand? Not many had a go so far or is everyone waiting for Darrin to have a go?
1) Cortina 2) June/July 1974 3)7.6s as calculated by Ford according to Sales literature 4) Scotish Motor Show, Kelvin Hall 5) £2193.31 according to sales literature.

Firstly appologies to Owen sorry mate 1 out of 5, Gareth 4 out of 5 depending on which " sales literature " you read ( I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt). The one you got wrong you need to be more specific

1) Cortina Mk 2 2) June/July 1974 3) 7.6s as calculated by Ford according to Sales literature. 4) Scotish Motor Show, Kelvin Hall 5) £2193.31 according to sales literature.
The sales literature I have is the black and white A4 RS3100 brochure, the RS3100 on one side and a brief outline of the specs which ahd both the rpice and 0 - 60 figures in so at least it is an official Ford publication so I very mutch appreciate being given the benefit of the doubt. It will please Sue as i got her to double check my answers to 3 & 5 prior to posting.
My answer o question 1 is based on having nothing better to do in my hotel room but trawl through pictures of old Fords to see what the rear number plate lights in the bumper might look like and Mk2 Cortina on a small computer screen seem to be the most likely candidate to me.

still 4 out of 5, and going by Ford AVO price list for the RS3100 both 3 & 5 are also wrong, but I knew where you were coming from hence my appology to Owen as he also put the answer as 7.6 sec and giving your good self the benefit of doubt.

OK, been on holiday to Sunny Scotland, so I'll have a go, Since Gareth has so obviously shown why he was last at the AVO show!
1. Cortina Mk 2 estate 2. August/september 1974 3. 7.6 seconds according to the sales brochure 4. The scotish Motor Show, Kelvin Hall, Glasgow. 5. Sales brochure price £2193.31, AVO price list June 1974, £2026.46. The AV0 price list of 1975 shows the same price, while RS2000's, mexicos and RS1600 had gone up by a couple of hundred quid! Hmm, I wonder why.
Julian's response on when the 50 RS3100's were shipped to Australia, of course, assumes the use of a time machine, as I don't think they were made until Nov/Dec 1973!
