Hi all, is the blue Capri with the Vinyl roof "Marine Blue" ? also, was the vinyl roof an original option with the RS3100 ? regards Paul Lets see if the all seeing Oracle confirms, but the blue car isn't marine blue, it's stardust silver. Both are rare, but I believe only 10 were made in the marine blue colour. Marine blue is a very dark blue, very similar to a navy blue. As far as the vinyl roof is concerned, this wasn't an option on RS3100's. There weren't any options available on these cars from the factory. There were, however, detail differences between some, e.g inertia seat belts vs static, but something like a vinyl roof would have either been fitted at the dealer or later in the cars life, but not at the factory. Hope this helps!

At least one of us has to demonstarte a degree of fashion sense. ;D We know that'll never be Len or Vernon Neither Vernon or I may make a DEMONSTARTE as you put it but we are getting quicker, I suspect a bit of jealousy here after we refused to become members of your leather clad groovy gang ;D not entirely sure you have demonstrated a degree of fashion sense but hell you have give us a bloody good laugh

Vernon is on the nose with this one, the car in question is indeed Stardust Silver with a build number in the low 20's, Marine as vernon stated were very dark blue only 10 built ( the last 10 RS3100's off the production line). No options and this car sports an after market vynil not a Ford item.

Interesting stuff.
Although that car's Stardust Silver, it's fair to say there's a real tinge of blue going on with the paint job. Reminds me of when elderly ladies used to give their hair a 'blue rinse'. Now that could of course be Gareth's next move to complement this dodgy leather look we keep hearing about.
With regards 'demonstarte', it made me chuckle because I was reminded of the legend that was Fred Dibnah and the way he used to say in that broad Bolton accent of his 'Right then, I'm going to give you a dee-mon-strey-shone'. A much missed character for sure.
