There is a 'Stardust Blue'(!) RS3100 advertised within. Restored 1999 and described as mint condition.
If anyone's interested, it's priced at £15,500 ono, and the vendor is Mark on 07779 715005, based in Shropshire.
No doubt Len can confirm which car this is. I can't make the registration out in the picture.
Cheers all. MN
PS. Anyone know where that low-mileage black one on ebay ended up?

Hi Mike I believe this car sold on pistonheads was only on there for a couple of days, it was at Combe last year ROW 131M. Dont know if the black one VTD 66M sold or not it was on E-Bay twice i knew of someone that was interested in it after the first failed attempt on E-Bay but never heard any more of it. Len.

You're right Len. Just had a look at the Pistonheads website as they keep the ads of sold cars on the site for a few weeks.
The car does look to have a sort of blue-ish tint to it, which I've also noticed with RBW 111M.
It did well if it made £15k. Was it really that good? The photo's I've taken of it don't give that impression, but then silver cars never seem to look as 'glossy' and impressive as the solid colours in my opinion.
But of course, we all know that red is the only colour to have...
Incidentally, in the latest issue of Retro Ford there's a six-page photo spread on the Brooklands Capri 40th bash, and I think my car must be about the only one which doesn't get a look in.
I shall be taking this up with Ben and the boys, especially as they're so local to me, so expect to see WGW in print at some point in 2010. Being a regular visitor to Northern Ireland on business, I'm planning to take the RS across to the wonderful Portrush 'Causeway Coast' Ford bash on June 7th, so may offer to write a feature for them on the excursion.
Maybe some of you fancy tagging along with me. The more cars the merrier. And if you've never been to NI, trust me, it's an absolute beast of a place.

I have some articles on ROW. It used to have tripple webbers and from what I remember, had a fulkl restoration and when I'd seen it, looked pretty smart, so I'm not suprised at the 15 k asking price. As parts get harder to source, I think quite a gap in prices will open up between merely good cars Vs excellent/concourse cars. Red may be the colour to have, but maybe not the colour to photograph, that's all!
I've not been to Northern island for ages! Last time I was there, the troubles there were still very much happening. It was certainly an interesting place, but scary in places, morter proof (ish) ploice stations and burnt out cars being fairly regular sitings on the streets. I'd like to go back there one day, but probably not this year...have a house move and baby on the way to take care of first!

There you go Mike watch out for those "PLOICE" stations the buggers have built them without using cement ( morter proof). Seriously ROW is a very nice example and has faired very well since the resto I am in total agreement with Vernon it was worth that money all day long, it has apparantly gone back to a former owner who was involved in a police chase with it back in the 80's, hope the new owner gets in touch. Talking of Ireland I believe that 2 more RS3100's have recently gone over there a Stardust Silver one painted Olympic Blue and a Sebring Red one yet to be confirmed though.

Just noticed the thread about the two RS3100's that have gone to Northern Ireland. I made an enquiry about the olympic blue one but was told that it had been sold to an Irishman. I was then told about another red one available which needed some work doing to it (they wanted £8k for it). I was going to go over and view it but then received a phone call back to say that the Irishman had decided to buy that one as well! I asked the registration plate of the red one and was told UTJ 808M. Looked on DVLA site and noticed that it was last taxed until 1.1.1988 How much would anyone advise paying for the silver one up for sale again ROW 131M ? Thanks.

I would have thought it was worth at least what was paid for it on pistonheads 15.5k, given that there are a lot of people interested in buying one at the moment I can see it making a bit more. The problem is they do not come up for sale very often especially in that sort of condition. At the end of the day it is worth what someone is willing to pay. RScapriman
