Hi Everyone, ive been reading this forum for a while with interest and figured i may aswell join in the fun - I live in Australia and have a very keen interest in the RS Capri. I've had numerous Capri's but i'm now on the hunt for an RS - as you will all be aware there was 50 imported to oz in 74. I recently put an advert in the papers here in the wanted section - trying to unearth what may remain of one of the original 50 - no luck tho, as expected. I know of a few on the east coast but i dont believe there are any over here in the west - Len how many do you know of that are left from the 50 ? I run a club here in Perth - the web page we have is simple but has some nice photo's, sorry - no RS's in the club.....yet, so wont mention it again. but if you're intersted here is the link www.perthcapri.blogspot.comall the best Paul

Hi Paul welcome to the site, always good to hear from our Capri friends down under, With regard to your question I dont know exactly how many RS3100's are left in your country I can tell you that I have details of 46 of them on the Register I would guess that more than 30 exist but it is only a guess. There is a guy called John McCullum that runs a tuning company that owns 3 RS3100's I would dearly love to know the Chassis Numbers of his cars you never know could a new one amongst them. Regards Len.

John is from QLD as far as I know, he apparently had/has a business called Capri Spares. I can't confirm if he has 3 RS3100's, but JR might be able to. There is also QLD car dealer who is said to have 2 hidden away.
Len, of the 46 you have details for, how many do you know have been written off &/or are no more?
Cheers
Jamie

Hi Jamie, it really is difficult to say as I inherited a lot of Australian cars when I took the Register over and have no idea wether they all still exist or not I also recently was given help by a fellow countryman of yours who added several cars to the Register but again these records were from way back so again no way of telling how many of these still exist. Regards Len.

Hi Paul, yes all colours did get to your country the 46 cars are made up from the following:-
Daytona Yellow = 11 Sebring Red = 7 Diamond White = 10 Olympic Blue = 11 Modena Green = 5 Stardust Silver = 1 Marine Blue = 1
I can tell you that the Stardust Silver car has been written off and that the marine Blue car ws the first of the 10 Marine Blue cars built. Another RS3100 I would like to confirm the details of is a car belonging to a guy called Mr Laurie Neilson or Nelson it is a Sebring Red car I have pictures of it in his workshop ( may belong to a friend of Mr Neilson) Regards Len.

The red one you speak of was owned by Bib Stilwells wife, it is now owned by Lauries ex business partner. I may be able to get the number as a mate is going around to look at a MK2 capri he has for sale.
RS3100's in Aust come up for sale at the rate of about 1 per year. I'm in Vic and I have an Olympic Blue one. There will be at least 3 on display this weekend at Federation Square in Melbourne (with about 20 MK1's).
I speak regularly to John Mc I'll see if I can squirrell the chassis numbers out of him

Hi John, if you do manage to speak to Mr J McCullum and you get onto the topic of Chassis Numbers best not mention the RS Owners club in any way as a fellow countryman of yours has allready tried to obtain this information from Mc unfortunately sometime in the past before my time some one in the club has seriously pi**ed him off being totally un cooperative. Regards Len.
